So yeah.. I am back to Vox. I had another blog going for a while, but nobody read it and what is the point if nobody reads it? At least here the community is strong and there is a chance that somebody will read.
So let's see, in the past 5 months that I have been away I have not really accomplished anything it seems. I have decided that going back to school full time is just not going to work. While I still don't like my job, it isn't as bad as it used to be. A new manager will do that. But my job is not tolerable until I can figure out what I want to do.
I am still going to go back to school on a part time basis. The community college here is probably on of the best in the nation and they have teachers for the most part. More people go to JCCC than to KU if you can believe that. Well they have an animation program and I am going to try that out. I am going to go try to talk to an advisor this week and maybe start a few classes this summer if it isn't too late.
I have to say, that I officially suck at Halo 3. I played 4 games last night of team slayer, I don't think I got more than 5 kills in any game. It was so frustrating, and it made me want to throw my controller. Actually the 1st game I did pretty well, had a killing spree even, but it went downhill from there... And shotty snipers can DIAF.
So I am planning on going back to school next fall to study film. I found a great blog today about adults going back to school. I think I am going to fit in just fine when I go back. I will be 30 when I start, but many people don't believe I am that old. I had a guy in my class the other night ask me how old I was. He thought I was like 23. Anyway, I think this is great!
From http://catbrodie.alloz.com/2007/11/04/college-adults-going-back/
"Then there are those who go back to college simply because they are
tired of what they’re doing. They want to do something else with their
lives. Maybe they have been at a particular job for a long time and
there’s just no more challenge to it. By going back to college and
learning something new it is like starting life all over again. This is
a great way to put the fun back into your life. Many people have
misconceptions of how they will be looked at for going back to school
so late in life. They think people will look at them as losers who have
to do this because they’re uneducated and need to go back in order to
get a decent job. The truth is, people who go back to school late in
life are actually looked upon with great respect. Many young students
who see an older person in a classroom are impressed by the person
being able to continue their education at this stage in their life.
There are of course sacrifices that have to be made. Going back to
college means you’re going to have less time to devote to your family
and friends. It is going to mean countless nights of studying and hard
work. Learning is not as easy when you’re older. The challenges are
great. But the rewards are just as great, knowing that you’ve
accomplished something like this when most people wouldn’t even attempt
it. Plus, going back to school will simply make you feel better about
yourself as a person and will give your children a positive outlook on
education itself. After all, if Mom or Dad can do it so can they."
Yeah #3 was corrupt, sorry. So here is 4 and 5
Over a million iPhones have been sold. Have you: bought one, considered it, or decided it's not for you?
I haven't bought one yet, but I want one. I am probably going to wait until my contract is up with ATT next August and get one then, if I can afford it. By then, the SDK will be in a lot of developer's hands and there should be some really good, legit apps out there for it. Apps that won't cause your iPhone to brick with the next update.
I don't want to get one and be forced into a 2 year contract that I won't be able to afford after I got back to school. I may just get an iPod touch and keep my current phone. But I hate my Razr. What I will probably end up doing, is getting a really cheap plan and a cheap phone or a pay as you go phone since I hardly ever use my phone as it is. The Palm Centro is a pretty sweet phone though. Eh, I'll figure it all out someday.
2 words.... It Rocks!!
I propose that it is illegal to work on rainy Monday's. You must stay in bed until you are fully rested or until Tuesday. If it is still raining on Tuesday, you must stay in bed.
