After all the recent season and series finales, what are you watching on TV these days?
Well the 3 main shows I watch have all wrapped up. The Shield, The Office, and The Riches. I haven't really been watching a whole lot of TV since those shows are over. I have been spending most of my time gaming now. I spent a lot of time gaming before, but now those gaming sessions aren't interrupted by a show that I want to watch. So the TV hasn't really been on a whole lot, except when the kids watch Nick or something like that.
As some of you know, I am working on a goal to lose 100lbs so I can get lap band surgery done. I am down 80lbs, so 20 more to go. Then I have about 200 more pounds to lose after that and I can be "normal." You do the math and you and figure out how much I weighed before I started this journey.
One of the most motivating things to me to lose this weight is to think about the things I will be able to do, and some of the cool shirts I want. That's right, the shirts I will be able to wear really motivate me to lose the weight. Let's say that jinx.com will be getting quite a bit of my money. I know all the shirts I want, it comes out to right around $200. Not too bad for all the shirts I want. I also want to get a hockey jersey or two. For some reason I have always liked the way they look.
Other things I am going to do when I am 200lbs+ lighter....Go on a roller coaster or 10, drive a race car, drive go-karts, ride a horse, get a motorcycle, fly an airplane. This list is a work in progress.
So it has been a pretty crappy Monday so far. I woke up at 9:30am...I am supposed to be to work by 9:00am. So it started off wrong. Then I get to work and things just suck. I don't want to deal with PC issues today. I was up until 3am last night working on a computer for my uncle. Not the way I like to spend part of my weekend.
Saturday I went back to my hometown, Burlington, KS, for a family reunion. It was my step-dad's family so I didn't really know anybody but it was still fun. I am sad that we didn't have one on my mom's side this year. They are so much fun and I love being with my family.
So I was back in Burlington, I hadn't been back in a year and I really haven't driven around and taken it all in for about 2 years. A few things have changed, for the worse. Almost every business downtown is gone, empty. The high school has this big new additions that juts out into the parking lot. WTF? It seems like half of the parking lot is gone now. I would like to know what the new addition is for. My old homes are looking run down as well. The house on 3rd street is in disrepair and the house on 6th, which my mom still owns and rents out, is overgrown and looking sad as well. The town has seen better days.
One thing that did surprise the hell out of me is that the Old Mill, if you ever lived in Burlington you know what I am talking about it, is now a house. People apparently live in it. It is all fixed up. This used to be where we would go mess around if we wanted a good scare to do things that Jr High kids shouldn't be doing. The place was full of small town graffiti and the floors were riddled with holes. It was a frightening structure. Now it has a private drive, windows, a mailbox, several cars in the drive, and I saw lights on inside. Seeing that blew my mind.
I did run into somebody I didn't want to. My kids and I were in a convenience store getting something to drink and some candy for the drive home and in walks my step-brother from my dad's new marriage. The last person I wanted to see save my dad. I really wasn't to worried about seeing my dad, since he lives in another town, but I didn't think about this. I recognized him off the bat, he gave me a glance, but I am not sure if he knows who I am. I acted like I didn't know who he was. But I am sure he knew who I was. Anyway, no words were exchanged and we got the hell out of there as fast as the slow ass girl working the register would let us. I am sure he will report back to my dad that he saw me.
